Other High school Newspapers
1. My favorite newspaper front page was 'The Outlet'. I liked this because the quotes from what was inside the newspaper were made a part of the picture on the front page.
2. 'The Oracle' newspaper automatically caught my attention because of the picture and the text and font they used to make the cover more interesting.
3. The headline, "Gone But Never Forgotten" caught my attention along with the picture right under it. It was about a student that died earlier that year. I thought it was an interesting topic to have in a school newspaper.
4. Only one story was on the front.
5. Not many front pages only had one picture, most of them were text
6. The size of headlines, number of pictures and amount of text all varied
7. Some of them were similar to what we looked at
Headlines: a heading at the top of an article or page in a newspaper or magazine
Subheadlines: a heading given to a subsection of a piece of writing
Photos: a photograph
Teaser: a short item, a headline, or photo with caption referring to or promoting a news article or feature on inside pages
Folios: a sheet of paper folded once to make two leaves
Captions: a title or brief explanation appended to an article, illustration, cartoon or poster
Stories: an account of imaginary or real people and events tad for entertainment
Bylines: a line in a newspaper naming the writer of an article
Infographics: a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent info or data
Masthead/staff box: the title of a newspaper or magazine at the head of the front or editorial page

10 Photography Resolutions for the New Year (5 Websites)
I love this picture because of how it was taken and how beautiful it looks. The snow that comes between the subject and the camera breaks up the photo and makes it a much cooler picture to look at. I love the way the model is dressed and her expression makes the picture more interesting. (Even though i think if it had been more candid it could have been a lot better.) I saw a lot of really cool pictures that i assume were taken by the author of the blog. I also read about the 10 things a photographer should do with their time. |
Great Portraits (5 websites)
http://blog.phowd.com/2014/09/7-tips-shooting-great-portrait-photographs/
On this website, I saw a lot of amazing portraits. Not only were some of them very out-of-the-box, and interesting to look at, some of them were very edited. It was really cool to be able to see the before AND after pictures of the models and how shadows alone can change how someone looks in a picture. I learned that the way you edit a picture can completely change the way the subject looks, and the way the photographer positions the subject can give them picture more depth and make it more interesting to look at.
